Hanhikivi area at North Ostrobothnia county planning

North Ostrobotnia county planning includes many notes about Hanhikivi area. It’s noteworthy, that the area is mentioned, almost, at all listings which concerns natural values.

Hanhikivi area has been defined as a very important biodiversity area because of its natural habitat types and species. The area includes:

North Ostrobotnia county planning has been accepted in June 11th 2003 by North Ostrobothnia county council. Environmental Ministry of Finland ratified it in February 17th 2005.

Particularly important biodiversity areas are the most significant areas of the threatened species or important bird areas which aren’t a part of any nature reserves. The area is in connection with planning order. Using the land has to plan and realize the way that improves on the areas biodiversity preserving. Planning the area has to ensure that land use doesn’t endanger the living circumstances of birdlife and plants.

North Ostrobothnia is one of the Finland’s key areas for preserving land-uplift coast. Land-uplift coasts have noted to deserve nature conservation quality analysis. Also, it’s particularly important to allocate to natural objects in the nature areas of land-uplift coasts.
